I have made previous post concerning engine cooling and one thing I have pointed out is both my Main & Aux fans are wired to run constantly (from key on to key off). It was like this when I bought it and after tracing all the wires, it looks like it was a very profressional job.
Some of the advice I've recieved is to rewire my fans to a fan switch so they kick on at 200 and off 180 degrees. Before I do, my question is were the fans rewired by Callaway to help compensate for the extra heat generated by the turbos or was it done by one of the previous owners?
No Callaway didn't rewire the fans to run all the time. Someone else has done that.
Thanks and 65Z01 as well. That's what common sense and my gut were telling me; but who ever did this did a really nice job, so I figured I'd ask just to be safe. My cars in getting new braided hoses to the turbos, as well as a new starter. I've got a new aux fan switch and harness, so I'll tackle this job when I get it back. I may have a question as to how to re-wire it once I get it back.
