It's come to my recent attention that I unkowingly have 4.10 gears installed in the car. The previous owner (2nd) didn't know of this and didn't relay the information to me. This is my first 'vette and I erally wondered why 4th only ran out to ~105MPH...
My question is, what is highway performance going to be like with 4.10 gears? My car seems awfully slow. It's not bad around town from the 0-60MPH range if I stomp on the gas and run it through 1st and 2nd, but once she's moving it seems pretty lethargic. I own (or have owned) many 300+HP cars in the past and they all seem to have a lot more scoot than this 'vette.
The car runs great and has no problems, 76,000 miles on it and has Corsa cat back and a short shifter.
I have 4.10s and I don't find my car sluggish at all. In fact, stoplight to stoplight, I have out accelerated faster cars and that is what the 4.10s are all about, right?
On the highway, it is very civilized... hell, I can't even use 6th until I am over 75 or it feels sluggish, but I can cruise all day long at 70 in 5th and stomping the gas will still put you back in the seat.
If your car is feeling slow, I would look elsewhere for a problem. The 4.10 will make it feel anything but sluggish. Sounds like something else is cousing your engine to feel sluggish.
I agree with all of the above, unless when you say 4th gear you mean OD in an automatic. Then those 4:10's would rough on the highway. The manual 6spd has that double OD the takes the edge off those 4:10's.

look elsewhere for the cause of your slugishness..........
It is a 6spd, the car runs perfect so I'm a little lost on what else that could cause the problem. Maybe the cats are clogged, but their is no abnormal heat coming from the cat area of the exhaust. I figured if there was a problem it would be sluggish through all of the powerband or there woul dbe some hesitation of some sort. Maybe I'll just hit up a dyno and see what it puts down...
If anyone has any ideas why it would just be "slow" then let me know!
