Cold start valve
JUst curious: I think mine may be leaking, & I understand that nobody has these any more. This is for my `87. Is it really needed? I understand that the later L-98s did not have them. What happens if I just disconnect/block it off?. Will the car start when it is cold without it?
In warm weather, the engine should start and run, but it may take a few more crank-overs before it does.
In cold, winter temps (depending on where you live), though, it probably won't start well, if at all. You can always have your PROM re-burned with later programming to account for the elimination of the CSI. That's what I had done when I eliminated mine.
The later Vettes have the cold start cycle burned into the PROM. I believe 89 was the first year that the cold start injector was eliminated.
