I just bought a Borla 2.5" Stainless rear y-pipe for my 84. Now I need some new mufflers to attach to it. Was looking at these:

Any other ideas or a cheaper source than Ecklers?

I have one idea you might want to consider. Straight pipes. If you have the stock cats and maybe even precats the sound shouldn't be too loud. I don't have an Eckler's catalog, but Mid America sells them for $130.

The 84 only has one cat. In my case I have a test pipe installed in its place, so no cat. I guess I would kind of like mufflers so it is not too loud.

Put a new main cat back in.

1. You could then use Eliminators.
2. Not drive around in an illegal car.
3. Not foul up the air for the rest of us.

You have to admit your car doesn't run any better without it.

The muffler eliminators I have seen are 2.25", I need 2.5" to match up with the stainless y-pipe. I do have the option of putting in a cat at a later date. My test pipe is in because the cat went bad and I am just filling the gap for now while I make some mods. My vette is not fouling the air for you west coast guys, it isn't even being driven on the street right now.

Any other 2.5" muffler suggestions, stainless preferred?
