How about a little more info.
Will the engine still be a 350, what about compression ratio, type of trans, how important is idle quality, are we talking a daily driver here, how high do you plan to spin it?
i want to keep it a 350ci, want to run 93 octane gas with no knocking so high 9s i guess, trans will be a 700r4 idle can be all lil lopey just not so much that it throws codes at me, it will share DD task with the Xfire, i dont rev my engines past 4500rpm, i drive like a old man
Well, heads and a cam (if it's a hydraulic roller) will set you back over $2,000. Is that within your budget?
If so, here goes:
Heads: There are a lot of aluminum heads to choose from. Edelbrock Performer and Performer RPM heads are a good choice and will run just under $1,000 complete. 2.02/1.60 SS valves, 170 cc intake ports, 64 or 70 cc combustion chambers, studs and guide plates and ready to bolt on. I got mine from Summit, but JEGS and others sell them too.
Air Flow Research heads flow more, but are more expensive and there's usually a waiting time to get them.
CompCams Pro Magnum roller rockers are about the best going until you step up to a Jesel shaft rocker setup, which is considerably more expensive. If you go with CC RRs, opt for the ones designed for 7/16th studs, then swap the studs that come with the heads for 7/16th studs. You'll gain more valvetrain rigidity over the stock diameter studs.
Camshaft: A hydraulic roller is my recommendation. Something close to 212/218 @.050 in duration. I'd opt for one of CompCams Xtreme Energy series. Idle will be JUST noticable, vacuum will be good (no power brake problem), throttle response will be crisp and midrange power will be excellent up to 5200 RPM or more.
I can look up and post my specific cam recommendation if you need me to.
No PROM re-burn should be necessary if you have the cam ground on 112 (or wider) lobe separation angle.
The rest involves gaskets, tools and other tid-bits .
If you need any other info, let me know. Hope this helps.
Since you've got more clearance in the camaro, I would suggest going with a Holly Stealth Ram intake instead of the Super Ram. Cheaper and results are about the same. Plus, it's a heck of a lot easier to work on!

You gonna need a heck a lot more than that to run in the high 9s. A 3700+bls car to run in the high 9s. You will need 700hp to do that with slick tires. So I don't think a 350ci with SR intake going to cut it. My .02
ps. If you are talking about high 9:1 C/R? than disregard the above.
Thanks i have a budget of about 4g for this project, whats the difference between the 64cc and 70cc heads whats better
Compression ratio. The 6 cc difference will account for about 3/4 point in CR (all other factors remaining the same); the smaller chamber giving more CR.
