Urgh! New problem with 87 TT ...
First, let me say I've always had good luck with these guys and they do take care of me. This morning I even found out the had called Callaway to find out what starter they needed to use and after working with them all morning they got it figured out.
While they were at it, they noticed that there was a crack in connector of the knock sensor on that side. They couldn't say for sure if it was done when my Turbos were replace a few months back (by another shop) or if they had done it, so they replaced it for free.
Now for the problem, after they put everything back together and started it, the idle started surging. Took it for a test drive and, when you came to a stop, it (the idle) would surge, then drop and the car stalled -- no 'check engine' light...urgh!
They are keeping the car and not goingt to charge me anything extra to 'fix it', and I have no doubt they will. I just wanted to vent and see if anyone here had any suggestions as to what has caused the surging. To recap -- Car ran great-had starter, braided hose, and knock sensor replaced-no other mechanical work done, engine, persay wasn't touched. Any ideas?
