Default Cold start valve; revisited

I was looking for one of these for my `87, & read on the forum that they were made of " unobtainium ". Just checked with my local NAPA store, & the guy ordered me a new one, cost $ 67.50. It will be in by thursday. FWIW

Yes, that is what my local NAPA store said too. Placed on backorder. Never arrived. So, I ordered one from the only on-line vendor who showed one in stock. Placed on backorder. Never arrived. I ordered one from an on-line GM dealer who assured me they would find one if there was one to be found. It arrived a few days later. It was a standard L98 fuel injector which is nothing like the cold start injector. If you do get one you have done very well indeed. Just be sure they don't try to sell you a standard L98 fuel injector.

NAPA guy called back at 6pm, & left a message that he can`t get one, they no longer make them. --Bummer

I have one from my 85. It was rebuilt 2 years ago by Cruzin Performance. It has been off the car for over a year since I put the Superram on. I'll PM you the info.

FWIW, I checked my parts book and found the following:
1985 Valve Kit, Cold start.....17110858
1986-1988 Valve Kit, Cold Start.....17110860

It looks like the '85 is all by itself. My book is old. Check for superseding numbers. Possibly, at THIS late date, they are both serviced by a common kit. Also, I checked the AC Delco site. I couldn't find the valve, either by part number cross or by application. They DID show the switch, a pipe kit, a fitting and a gasket, but no valve or valve kit. Good luck, guys, and...

RACE ON!!!

Try Contemporary Corvette (link on my site) as they have a large Vette bone yard in eastern PA.
