It appears the water pump in my 95 is leaking oil from the driveshaft hole. So I am seriously considering an electric pump before the oil takes out my Optispark. I see that most people are running the Meziere, is anybody running a CSI or the Summitt version?
The CSI is going for $170 on Ebay and Summitt is selling their's for $179. Where is the best place to buy the heavy duty Meziere?
Most likely I will go with the Meziere. I don't like to test new or uncommon products on my daily. I like going the tried and true route and the Meziere is used by many on the forum.
Oil coming out of the weep hole is not really what is happening I think. But oil might be slipping past the seal where the gear driven shaft comes out of the timing cover. There may also be an oil leak in the front of the intake manifold. In either case, the heavy duty Meziere electric coolant pump is a wise choice. You'll eliminate one possible oil leak, protect your opti-spark from a possible coolant leak and you'll gain a few ponies as well. Here is an article I wrote on my installation of the Mez: https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...=231&TopicID=2
Your article looks very informative, I will print a hard copy for my install. How long did all this work take you? I consider myself of average mechanical ability as I have done things like LT headers, water pumps and nitrous on 5.0 Mustangs (but recently Corvette converted), plugs and wires on the Vette. So I hope I can do this without upsetting the wife too much (daily driver, but I do have a bicycle if necessary ha-ha ).
Where did you get your pump from?

I bought my pump from Thunder Racing (a Vendor here on the forum), but just make sure you get the HEAVY DUTY Meziere pump. As far as how long it took----I was doing other things along with it like headers, wires, plugs and a little cleaning as well. I hate to do projects when racing the clock. But to answer your question, I'd give yourself a good weekend if you do it right. I'm here if you have any questions along the way.
