Speed Pro Rings question.
Now after some problems which ended up being bad exhuast valve seals I purchased another set of the exact same rings. Thought it was cheap insurance while I had it apart again...
However, the top rings in this set are plain rectangular rings, no upper inner bevel? I will be calling Federal Mogul on Monday AM to ask them but thought I would get some feedback from engine builders on the forum before hand. Did I get a faulty set? Did F-M decide to save some $ & screw me more than they already were or ???
These ring packs are NOT cheap at about $105 a set, supposedly due to the narrow(skinny) second ring which does have a lower inner bevel which both sets do have.
What do you think?? Thanks!

I did finally find a page on their site listing the ring part numbers in detail & the diff. types/shapes.
Some better explanation on how the styles perform is what I'm after. I was under the impression that the bevel on the top gave a tortional twist to the ring under pressure when the combustion pressure is pushing from behind the ring...
The square rear face IMHO is cheaper to produce though.
Here are some links:

I have an RFI-10Y Top ring
and RBT10 second
I believe the first set came w/ a BR-18PF top ring but I can't be sure at this point...
