Won't unlock with key, I just bought the car so maybe the lock was changed. But what's weird is that it unlocks from inside BUT it won't unlock with the keyless.
Seems odd that the power button on the drivers side door unlocks it, but the fob won't unlock it. The fob DOES unlock the passenger side door so I know it works.
Check the PKE setting, there is an option which will only have the passenger side work. A search for PKE will turn up the specifics, or hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in.
PKE = Passive Keyless Entry, if the fob works the passenger but not the drivers side it is disabled from what I remember. I've not had good luck with the search function lately either.
What does PKE stand for? How do I check the settings. I searched for PKE and got nothing.
PKE= Passive Keyless Entry. The key fob contains a transmitter that when activated , the PKE system that is , will open the door/s you select when you come into range. The system is activated or deactivated by holding down the door button on the fob until the door locks cycle.
You can select which door/s will unlock by putting the key in the ignition, donot turn "on". Hold down the door button until the system opens the locks you select. It will take a little practice. Pick up an owners manual for detailed operation.
As far as i know with PKE dissabled, your fob will only unlock the passenger door (and the hatch). IMO the PKE system is anoying because it always honks the horn whenever you walk away, so i have it on dissabled. Consequently i am punished by having to use a key for the drivers door. If you find out a way to correct this, please post it.
