Default Diff ratio question

Hmmmm..... my Vette still has the stock diff ratio, and i'm not sure if i should change it or not. I use my vette as a daily runner, i do quite a few 1/4 miles races with it as well as race track events. when i still had the standard rpm limiter on, i could get around 259km/h (sorry about the km/h) in 5th and then would pull in 6th up to 304km/h before i tapped off. i would like to get 5th closer to 300, although i have now changed my rpm limiter to 7000 so i suppose that would do the job. i'm not sure if its worth the $ to change the diff or not, and what would the performance be like once it's changed......
Any suggestions?? they would be greatly apprieciated
