87,/c4 eliminate smog system

I just removed mine. I have an 85. Should be pretty much the same system. I didn;t have to recalibrate anything. No check engine light, no codes, runs great. You will have to put something back in place of the air pump. Some of the Vette catalogs sells a pulley kit to replace the pump. It's from $150 to $170. That was a little steep I thought so I made my own for about $30. It cleaned up the engine compartment rather nicely.

Just yank off the AIR pump and put a pulley in its place, one is sold in the Ecklers and MidAmerica catalogs. Disconnect its electrical connectors and the AIR pipes from the exhaust manifolds.

Cap the air line on the cat, and yank the rest off. I'd recommend leaving the EGR intact though.
