Default Code 43 FIXED! (help)

Hi,

I have been chasing this problem for a while. I was getting a intermittent code 43. First a little history: Last time at the track I broke my damper and powersteering line. At first I thought it was maybe the wobble in the damper that was making noise and setting the code, or when the line broke being as it made a mess over the opti and wires giving me my problem. After fixing those problems I still had a code 43.

After checking the circuit and knock sensors (3 times) and always checking out to spec-I finally got it fixed.

It was a bad set of wires. I noticed at night they were arcing. Even with them arcing it seemed to run okay. After installing the wires-no codes. So far I have only driven the car for about 1 hour. Also compared to before it runs stronger! If it comes back I will post.

Steven

I had a 96 Z28 that did that, couldn't find it never thought it was the plug wires they were two months old, sure enough one of the B*stards was bad.

My problem is back

Qusetion: I installed new Tayor wires however I noticed that they are also arcing. They are not touching anything and are set-up neat. Some arc from the boot and some arc to other wires. Again they are neat and have wire looms attached. Can I have a bad set of wires?

Any help would be greatly appreaciated!

Thanks,

Steven

Do you have a MSD installed?? when one of my plug leads broke, i used standard leads as a temp measure. Man at night it looked like a disco under my hood. the leads where glowing blue. Once i installed my proper leads no problem

Supavette,

No MSD, stock opti. I have a stupid question: When you say plug lead do you mean the spark plug wires?

Thanks for replying,

Steven
