Well, another minor problem has cropped up. My electric locks do not lock or unlock from inside the car. I have remote locks on, and lock and unlock from key fob. Lock Switch? How do you troubleshoot to determine which one, or is there something else wrong that I am overlooking? I have a 1986 Coupe. I really appreciate any input and help.
I also have an 86 but it does not have the remote fob feature. I recently when through a problem where my lock were chattering and cycling. It turned out to be a broken passenger side switch where the centering spring on the toggle switch broke , fell down and shorted the contact to lock. The only way I found this was throught the diagnostic tests in the GM service manual.
There is a proceedure for testing the doorlock switches with a multi - meter. IF switches are ok, then you will need to check the circuits in the Theft deterrant module that is located behind the passenger side panel, near the inside of the fuse panel. It a PITA to get to and you will need a manual. I hope it's just a bad switch.!!
