Default Code 45 rich exhaust, please help

What causes a code 45 for rich exhaust and what should I do to correct it? Is is a brand new O2 sensor.
Thank you.

Do you have a fuel pressure regulator? If the fuel pressure gets to high you'll get a code 45. The ECM can compensate for some increase, but if it gets to high you get the code. There's several other things, but I'd check the pressure first. You might try paging Agent86 if you don't have a Helms manual-he's very friendly about emailing sections. Unfortunately I don't know how to scan and email.

Thanks,
I have a new fuel pressure regulator but it's not on the car yet.
I also picked up a fuel pressure guage to check it out. I will look at that today.
I forgot to mention that I'm also getting codes 22 and 33. I was getting them intermitently before the 45 so I wasn't sure if they were related.
22 is the TPI I think and the 33 is the MAF.
I just had the TPI off with the throttle body and IAC to have them cleaned. The MAF sensor and relays are new.
What fuel pressure should I be looking for?
Thanks

I believe the pressure should read 34-39 psi. It sound like you've eliminated the MAF sensor, which is another suspect. How's the crank case oil? does it smell fuel contimated? also check the canister purge, if it's full of gas check the hoses.

I haven't ruled out the MAF just yet.
When I put in the new one is when I started seeing problems.
I just picked up a used one to try another.
We will see if it makes a difference.
I will check the fuel pressure as well.
Thanks

Code 22 is TPS, I thought.. Has that been changed or touched recently?

The TPS was taken off to clean the throttle body 2 days ago.
But here is an update.
I just recieved a used MAF sensor that I bought because I suspected my new MAF to be screwing things up.
I installed the used MAF, disconnected and reconnected my negative battery terminal to clear the codes and went for a ride.
only a 5 or 6 minute ride because that is all the time I had.
NO CODES!!!!
I'll take it for a longer trip soon but it looks to me like the MAF sending the wrong signal messes everything else up.
Thanks again for everyones input.
