Hey Guys. B&M has a "Console Megashifter" that will fit 89-92 Comaros and Firebirds. B&M does not have any applacations for Corvettes. Has anyone ever installed one of these into a Corvette or seen one installed. They look awsome and I need a new shifter. My Vette is an 85 auto. This shifter will work with the 700-R4 tranny. From the pictures the console in the Camaro and Firebirds look pretty close to what I have. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Troy

I installed regular megashifter #80690 , slightly modified the stock shifter cover, made a quick boot from naugahyde and modified the shift shaft/handle to move it forward without butchering the cars tunnel which would be easy and really move it forward.

hey i also have an after market shifter on my 700r4 . its a hurst quarter stick . it fits perfect no cuting i have pics but dont know how to post them .
I did it with the Hammer shifter. It has a slightly smaller footprint and fits better on the tunnel than the Megashifter, plus I prefered the handle.
The boot that comes with the Hammer isn't large enough to cover the works and the factory console opening. The shifter sits too higher on the tunnel and out of the console. I bought an aftermarket rubber manual transmission shifter boot, and modified the opening of the console lid to fit the shape and size. Kind of looks more like the megashifter that way. I guess if you wanted to take the time to modify the plastic floor console the Hammer comes with, so that a shortened version of it sits on top of the factory console lid, you could make it work.
