Default Need Help with TPIS Oil Pan

We are installing it later tonight. I noticed there is no provision for an oil level sensor. What can I do about that?

You should check your oil more often. Just kidding, my pan didnt have a fitting for it either. If you tie the 2 wires to the sensor off the light on the dash will never come on. Just have to check your oil regularly like your sopposed to.

You would have to drill a hole at the level you want, find a nut with the same thread, weld the nut to the pan.

I would use 4 quarts as the lowest you would want to get with a standard high pressure pump. And 5 quarts for a high volume pump. If your pan is stock dementions deep, but kicked out to the sides you could also measure how high the stock one is from the bottom. Thats probably a good mark. I am sure they designed so the oil pump pickup would not get uncovered by oil. I was originally going to do this to my 7qt pan but decided against it. I check my oil so often its not worth it for as littile as I drive the car, plus its another place to have an oil leak.

The TPIS pan doesn't look kicked out at all so it must be the depth that is changed, I think.

It is just bigger everywhere. Just add 4 quarts of fluid to the pan and set the sensor at that level. I just left it off myself.

Also, if you have a LT1, you'll have to get a new oil filter adapter. The PF-52 will not fit with the tucked in filter adapter. I used one from a early C4 without an oil cooler, 85 or 86 I think it was. Also, you'll need to do some mods to get the dipstick to fit in. I had to shave part of the dipstick off to get it to go in.

I have an L98. I would be using the cooler. That should fit without any problems, right?
