Default Rear Poly Bushing Kit Question - Diff Carrier?

I purchased the entire polyurethane conversion kit from VBP.

I was inventorying the parts and in the bag with the strut rod bushings are two more bushings.

Are these for the differential carrier aka batwing? If so can they be installed with the differential still in the car or do I need to pull the cover/batwing to have enough access?

Thanks in advance.

Pull the batwing!

When the rubbers are removed an aluminum sleeve is left behind. I dug this sleeve out and spent way too much time doing so. I suggest leaving the sleeve and having the bushings turned to fit. Much easier and the results are the same.

I've wondered if beause the differential is not a moving suspension part and because it is connected to the engine and transmission which are also mounted in rubber if I would put the poly bushings in the batwing. Did you notice any additional drivetrain vibration transmitted to the car?

I was able to drop the carrier just enough without taking it completly out. JRC may have a point you should consider, it is quite a pain getting in there. As far as the sleeve, I cut a slit in it with my hacksaw and was able to tap it out. The bushings themselves were quite a pain as well. After drilling around the center sleeve to soften it up, I pushed it out using a gear puller and an air gun.
