Default Master cyl replacement

Couldn't find any tech tips. Anyone changed one on an 89? Or just basic tips on what not to do. Told new cyl will not come with a mounting gasket . Is there not one used or what should I do?
Thanks in advance.

As far as i remember, a gasket is not needed, you just undo the 2 nuts holding it against the booster, remove brake lines and install new 1.

I did one a couple of weeks ago. Follow the instructions that come with the new one on how to bench bleed. If yours is the same as mine, the nuts are 13mm. I used a short extension on 3/8" rachet.

The dude at the parts house recommend that the first few pushes on the brake be no further than about 1/4" till you see fluid start to flow thru the clear plastic bleeder tube. Then slowly build up to full strokes. Never heard it before, but I tried it anyway.

And, no gasket needed.

I watched a skilled friend take the lead on this a couple of months ago (I did some of the dumb work ). Brakes have been great ever since...
