I have posted this topic before but have not gotten alot of responses or suggestions. I have noticed that March Pulleys has 2 different sets, One being Steel, One being Aluminum(both being recommended for auto trannys).
Wondering if they gains or what they claim(12-15 RWHP). And what one's to go with, and will I gain .10-.15 in the 1/4 mile with these!!

I have just the small diameter crank pulley on my 85 and it is aluminum. I didn't notice any power difference that I could feel. The aluminum has held up well so far, of course my car has only 54K on the clock. A two pulley set that speeds up the alternator would seem to defeat the purpose of pulleys as it would take more power to spin the alt. I have had no problems keeping the battery up with tje small crank pulley. Thats just my opinion. Others may disagree.

Pulleys are for Mustang drivers with pimples.
Those HP claims are complete b.s. If they spin your alternator slower, it'll just be under load longer. You can't shortcut on the engine's electrical needs... it takes what it needs, no more, no less, no matter what pulleys you have on there. It'll spin your water pump slower = less cooling capacity. It'll spin your a/c slower, so it won't cool as well, (who the hell uses their a/c when they're trying to maximize power anyways)? It'll spin your power steering slower, but there isn't resistance on it if you're going in a straight line.
Unless you have a supercharger, pulleys are useless.
