Got a 88 Vette and has always pulled a 34 and 36 code every since I have got this car. I have changed the MAF sensor and changed the two relays that are associated with the MAF sensor. A while back I took car too Chev. dealership and they told us they could not communicate with the ECM. Went to local parts store and bought an ECM and did not change nothing. Still pulled codes. I need some advice of what to do and maybe look for? Thanks
Go through the trouble shooting charts in your Helms (link)manual. Otherwise, after you throw many hundreds of dollars at it, you will likely stumble over the 50 cent problem. Unfortunately, I have no antidotal information. No MAF.

Are you getting codes right after start up or after some driving time
Codes at start up, for me at least, was bad IAC
Codes after running for a while were the MAF relays
I would suggest that you find or buy an ez link or other scanner so that you can not only read the codes but also read the info being sent to and from the ECM.
That's how I zeroed in on the IAC, counts were way off
Just tried to help another member with code 34, I'm betting on carbon buildup in the throttle body.At least the general found it to be such a common problem on 1985-87 they posted a service bulletin.
Yes, but he came back and said he had cleaned the TB, and I asked if he cleaned the IAC and housing, since this can also cause the same type of problems.

Just put injectors back in and cleaned the TB, plenum, and runners. Also the IAC that is under the TB is brand new!
