84 Automatic Shifter Replacement
Just wanted to check before I do this job. 1984 Corvette Auto - How hard to change the automatic shifter? Anything to look out for? I have the shifter **** and console plate off already. Do the cables come off and on easily? No cable adjustment should be necessary, I hope?

According to the GM service manual, there is a cable adjustment. With the shifter in park, Loosen the nut that holds the stud in the transmission linkage where the cable attaches. Make sure that the transmission is also in park and retighten the nut to torque spec.
