I have been chasing a code 43 problem for a while. I thought that it could be a bad set of wires as they were arcing. I changed the wires with Taylor 8mm. Same problem wires arcing and glowing. Now I change to a new set of A/C delco wires and still the same thing. The wires are neat and not touching anything. The knock sensor circuit(code 43) also checks out.
This time the tach was jumping around and the car was missing. I take it for a ride and the SES light goes out and no miss. When I get back home I check the wires and they were still arcing and glowing. It almost looks like a clear set of wires as you could see the spark traveling.
Could it be a bad opti causing me to see the arcing? Its vented and only 3 years old.
The spark plug resistance is greater than the plug wire insulation resistance. You need new plugs! You might have some arcing in the opti as a result too.

With Bosch, you may need to use 8.8mm wires. Used Bosh on a Camaro we had and had some arcing with the stock wires. Switched to 8.8mm wires, no more arcing -- just a thought.
