this would help out so much
thank you!
I'm in the process of doing just this mod to my 96 LT4. It's more work that I thought it would be. Here's a few steps I lacked foresight to see up front:
- Remove exhaust system (to remove the cats).
- Move the alternator/AC compressor to get to the driver's side exhaust manifold.
- Remove AIR system (this was a PITA 'cause the system is stuck to the exhaust manifolds).
The cats are a real PITA to remove, the bolts holding them to the frame are hidden away.
I decided that while I was there I'd upgrade the valve train with Comp Cam springs/retainers/RR, install my line loc and Harlan shift light.
All these projects seem to grow. If I was to do it all over, I'd do a cam at the same time and have the heads ported too. This mod is running over 2K with the valve train upgrade...guess I'll wait another year for the cam and heads.
is the Air system that hose that comes in through the top of the exhaust manifold ?
should i just remove them completely?
are you going to use 02 stims?
