Right now I have a miss in my car and I've started taking out plugs to see if I can find a dead cylinder or something but I was wondering if it might be the Opti given the Opti has 122,000+ on it. I have a '95 so I have the "good" Opti.
oh, yea, baby. The "good" optis are only so good... and 122k miles is REAL good!
This is a great time to wait until winter and park the car in the garage for a week & pull'r apart!
I would do:
* Opti
* Waterpump
* Front cover service - seals and gaskets. Also check the timing chain.
* New tensioner and idler
* Wires (I recommend Taylor)
* Plugs (I recommend either Denso or NGK)
* Serp Belt
* Oil pan gasket
* Intake manifold gasket
Do all of this yourself, at once, and the car will be set for a long long time!
About the only thing remaining would be a rear main seal, but gee, that's a real bitch to reach...
Possibly, we'll see! If so, guess I'll be going the Delteq or LTCC route, most likely LTCC because of the look of it (cleaner looking install if you ask me) .
