What is gear performance ratio?
Hey vette heads. I have a question. I just received my org. window sticker and on it says i have an upgrade performance axle ratio the cost was 50.00 What is that? If you know please help. thanks
I am not sure but, I believe you would have the 3.54 ratio. Very nice gear. If you have the A4 it would be a Dana 36 and standard transmissions come with the Dana 44. I put a 3.73 gear in my auto changing from a 2.79 and Wow, what a difference! A 3.54 is a nice all around gear.
I have a 1990 6 spd coupe. I haven't gotten my windows sticker & build sheet yet....they are on order from The CM. According to my RPO codes inside my console & a RPO code chart I found online, I have "GT7-Rear axle 3.33 ratio". If anyone knows the codes, does that code matchup correctly ?

In the `95 model year, automatics had two different rear axles available.
Standard was the 2.59 ratio (RPO GM1)
Optional was the "performance axle" 3.07 ratio (RPO G44)
The 3.45 ratio was only available with 6-speed manuals.
As for the `90 model year, 6-speeds had two rear axles ratios.
L-98 engines (base) had the 3.33 ratio
LT-5 engines (ZR-1) had the 3.45 ratio.

GT7, is indeed the designation for the 3.33:1 ratio
95VETTEINMEMPHIS,
G92 only indicates that your car is equipped with the "performance ratio" for that car. The standard, and therefore, the performance ratios changed from year to year, with the transmission selected, and coupe vs convertible, some years. There should be another "G" RPO designating the actual ratio your car was built with.
