Replacement Bosch Maf Sensor
I had heard that there is a direct replacement for our 1986-1989 Bosch Maf Sensors. The manufacture is Wells and the part number is Su-145. My question is has anyone used this Maf Sensor for a replacement and was there any problems?
Thanks
Talmadge

My 88 has a Bosch, the original MAF, I assume.
But, I don't know where they sell a Bosch MAFs.
All the Corvette part's suppliers sell AC Delco's for that year.
I even looked at Bosch's website, they don't sell them.

From the words of Gordon Killebrew:

The earlier Bosch MAFs were junk. You want the revised version found in the 1989 and newer Corvettes and Fbodys.
If you buy a new GM, you are getting the revised. I think the remaned units are also revised (it was a revision to the guts).
Don't by Wells. That stuff is junk.

I had not heard that Wells stuff is junk, what I had heard is that their units gave 25-30% more airflow......

Did Gordon give the part number to look for?

89 was the last year for these MAF's. These have a voltage level output.

I was curious about the wells MAF to. I checked and it was $180. I need a new MAF and was considering the Bosch, Wells, AC/Delco and Granatelli.

I don't care what brand it is, just so long it does the job, I am sick and tired of code 33 and the boat anchor that drops off the back of the car when it throws the code.
