[FIXED} Rear steers or sways with acceleration / deceleration.
All of the sudden on the way home from the track a couple months ago, I noticed the rear would want to steer the car, left under acceleration, right for deceleration (engine braking). After checking things out I came up empty. It was recommended here that I change out the rear toe rods and ends, so I did, but that did not fix it. In 99% of cases it would, and I appreciate the advice as always, but that would be too easy.
I just went back to it a couple days ago and found the U-Joints on the left axle shaft broken. It took another day at the track a couple weeks ago to really break'em up. The stub axle did not appreciate the 1.6x 60' times with broken joints and is a little bent out shape at the u-joint cup.
So, if you experience this and feel confident that your toe assembly is tight, check out the u-joints.
