When hooking up a scan tool...
... the idle picks up. Why would this happen?
It only seems to happen when I plug the EASE or a friends GenisysOTC scanner into a pre 87 Corvette.
Also, my EASE is displaying codes that the OTC does not... most odd.
argh.
thanks!

bogus if i recall on the OBDI cars when you plug the connector into the port of the car they go ninto a diagnostic mode... do the fans also turn on?
If not it sound like somewhere the connector or cable is perhaps jumpering somewhere or the dongle is bad...

My '86 Vette and '87 Chev Van both idle a bit higher with the scan tool hooked up. My mechanic friend said it's normal.
