700R4 gear change problems
Looking for advise/help on a 700R4 auto gearbox problem.
When problem first started, on cold startup it would not change out of 1st gear when in Drive. However, when warmed up, everything worked OK.
Now it has deteriated and even when warm sometimes (after coming to a halt) needs a change to Reverse then back to Drive to avoid getting stuck in first gear only.
Without a complete strip down or sending to a specialist, any ideas or clues to what the problem might be (& how to fix it) ?
Any feedback would be a great help and much appreciated...........

It be broke. There are some good manuals out there to help you tear it down and fix it. Parts are fairly reasonable. Just make sure you get heavy duty stuff to fix it with, like Kevlar clutches - not stock.
