I have been working with ATI procharger tech Jason for about 5 years now and on the 90-91 vettes those are the only years they have the dual intercooler setup for your vette! I am running a 383ci with 11psi of boost and making 500rwhp and have ran 12.3's on street tires with just motor and blower stock tyranny, stock TPI setup with bigger injectors and customer tuning. The twin setup I modified and will be more then happy to share my design with you or fab up some custom ram air for your car if you go with the twin setup! It works great and never had a problem and very easy to clean the intercooler for maximum efficiencies!

I would recommend for what you are looking for the twin 1-core intercooler setup not only does it work great but looks sweet!

Thanks Kevin

Krivera-
Do you have pics of how your twin intercooled system differs from the way ATI supplies it? I have the twin intercoolers, but on my 85. I would like to see what you did.

Lots of people like the side to side intercoolers because they "look cool" for a big fromt mount when seen from the front of the car; ala the Skyline GT-R. In that instance, where the intercooler is wider than it is tall (almost a 2:1 aspect ratio), top to bottom is much more efficient where pressure drop is concerned, because you have twice as many rows. The Japanese cars compensate with a thicker intercooler for less pressure drop. Heat dissipation is dependent on the surface area of the cooler, not which way the rows stand. Double the thickness is only worth 25% more surface area for heat dissipation, but it's harder for ambient, cooling air to move through the intercooler so you have to be going a lot faster for it to achieve these results. By using a top to bottom, you can achieve the flow of a side to side that's twice as thick if the intercoloer has a 2:1 aspect ratio (rectangle). If you have limited space (c4 retaining AC), the thinner cooler will help too.

I just wrote a whole short story explaining that if your intercooler is wider than it is tall (usual), you should be using a top to bottom, and the reasons why it's better. Especially on the C4 where the top tank can go over the radiator and directly into the TB.
