Hatch strut falls off
One of my hatch struts has a habit off falling off the metal ball that is on the rear glass. I am afraid it might cause the glass to drop and break So i want to fix it. Is there a way to keep it from coming lose from the metal ball or do I just need a new strut?

Look closely at the end of the strut (that is falling off) and see if it has a little clip spring on it. My 89 has the little clip spring and is easily removed from the ball with a small screwdriver. Your spring may be bent or broken off. If the spring is broken, you will need a new strut. If it is bent, bent it to recreate the spring action. This should be an easy problem to fix, just look carefully at your strut and you can figure this out!
