u joints

Just got the new ujoints in, however do I need to change the ujoint retainers and bolts? Do you put antisieze or thread lock on these bolts?

i use blue locktight on them and have never had any problems.

Yep, lock tight is all that I use.

I reused mine; well most of them. I had to drill one out. But I just cleaned the straps up a bit and used some locktite.

BTW, don't over torque these little guys, the older they are the easier they are to strip. I think the spec is like 12 ft. lbs or something.

How do you tell if your U joints are going out. I have been thinking mine are going out because I hear a loud ***** when i put it in drive or reverse. Could that be it. :o
