Default How Do I Change My Battery?

Can anyone please tell me how to change my battery on my LT4. What do I have to remove or take off to access it. Will my key fob need to be reprogrammed??

Doing it the first time it will be hard. You may have to remove side panel or or carefully bend it back. Other than that it is basically the same as any other car battery.
First time it took me an hour to remove it and 10 minutes to replace it.
now it takes me 20 minutes for whole process.

Default Change battery

I'm sure you need to change your battery NOW and not in the next few weeks. You really need an owners manual which explains in detail every screw that has to be removed in order to replace your battery. The first thing you need to do is pull forward the quarter panel which will expose the battery. The rest is common sense. Then reverse the process.

Newbee vette owner and just did mine last week...exactly like the diagram shows. Watch out for the upper spring clip by the door panel (if yours has one). Mine was loose and fell down into a crack below the door...took the longest to fish it back out. Still 30 minutes tops. You can buy a gizmo that plugs in the cigarette lighter with a 9v battery to hold all electrical program functions intact...might help with your key fob question. Mine doesnt have one.

You'll probably find that the first time takes a while. However, if your batteries keep going south like mine, you will swiftly become expert!

By the way, this is something that even the less techy among us (like me) can do.

Don't pull the bottom screw - gently bend the side panel out to clear the battery.

I know, I questioned bending it the first time I heard it, but I've pulled the battery at least 5 times that way and it's been fine.
