Default 91 Won't start

I have had about 4 incidents where my 91 will not start. The engine turns over but no ignition. After a while the car starts. On a couple of occasions it started after I let it sit for about 15 minutes. On the other occasions, I've let it sit for an hour or so. Any ideas on what this could be? Each time this has happened, the car has sat for anywhere from 2 hours to overnight.

sounds a lot like a dying fuel pump or coil.

Engines need spark (and at the right time), fuel and air (and in the correct ratio) in order to start and run. When you engine won't start, that is the time to make some measurements to find out why it won't start. First, use your timing light to determine if you have spark and at the correct time. Next, measure the fuel pressure on the end of the fuel rail. While measuring fuel pressure, turn the ignition off and see how fast you lose pressure. If it is rapid, then you have leaky injectors causing a rich condition and no start, and you should smell raw fuel from the exhaust while cranking. Next, unplug an injector and clip a low power 12v lamp across the plug and crank the engine, the lamp should pulse showing that the injectors are working.
