I was swapping engines earlier. Took out the engine and waterpump with it and sold it. Now I have the new long block and trying to make the Edelbrock water pumo work. Seems to me that on the right side are 2 studs. Also there is the AC bracket which hooks into those 2 studs. However, the bracket part that the studs go thru seems about 1/4 in higher than the nut. Is there some special stud or what am I missing. TIA
It is the 8815 one and it was for my 91. I don't have pics yet but I will try get them. Basically the AC bracket hooks up to the head and the water pump studs. However when the bracket lines up with the heads and the water pump, you can see that there is a gap between the nut on the stud (the nut is part of the stud) and the bracket where the water pump studs are concerned.
Doesn't sound good. Might want to measure the thickness of the waterpump where the studes go through. I can measure mine tonight for you. My '90 should be the same. I just installed all that yesterday on mine... GM pump though.

The nut area in the middle that you first tighten the pump down w/ is a little under 3/8" thick. Thats what makes up the space between the pump the air cond. bracket. Same for the bottom stud but it is of course longer where it goes through the pump & then shorter after its mid-mounted nut area. Overall the bottom stud on mine when installed is about 1/4" shorter than the top. The top stud also has a steel support bar that attaches between it & the bottom front air cond. pump mounting bolt. That bar installs before the last nut on the stud.
