Default Vibration Damper... Frisbee???

The Coolant Pump Pulley Vibration Damper... is this the "Frisbee" that people pull off? Any reason I need this thing? Is it as easy as pulling the 4 bolts that look to be holding it on?

It's mod day! Gonna do a little trimming of the air filter cover next.

Wrench On!

Gordon told me it was only on there to dampen vibration when the newer style A/C compressor cycles on/off.

Toss that sucker for a nice hp gain and cleaner engine front.

The frisbee on my '88 was held by studs in the water pump pulley mounting flange. I pulled the studs when changing water pumps and used bolts with lock washers to hold just the pulley in place.

If your frisbee is held on with bolts you may need washers to keep the bolts from hitting the water pump nose.
