I'm looking for a new timing chain for when I get my hotcam kit installed. I was going to need to get an electric water pump so I could get a cloyes true double roller, but now someone says they will sell me a "cloyes timing chain" that will work w/ the stock water pump? I thought they only made the double roller, but maybe I'm wrong? Could someone fill me in? it only has 4k miles on it, in excellent condition, and is gonna sell for 50 shipped, is this a good deal?
Also, am I going to have to upgrade the stock timing chain when putting the cam in? or will the stock one work for a while? I'm thinkin about goin ahead and buying it.

You can check it when you get it apart, but *I* think you would be foolish to reuse a 9 year old timing chain. Cloyes is a major manufacturer of timing components. They are a big OEM supplier. Chances are good that your car came with a Cloyes chain from the factory. I suggest you be sure of what you're buying before you send off 50 bucks for a used part.
Yeah, i need someone to confirm that cloyes has a regular timing chain that will work fine w/ the hotcam kit, so I don't have to re-use the factory chain.

If you're using the electric pump, you can use the Cloyes true double roller set 9-3145, about $75 new. Their LT1 specific set, for use with factory water pump is probably 3 times that much. The difference will just about pay for the electric pump.
