Default LT1 Headers?

For those that have headers, what type do you have? I'm toying with the idea as I want some extra sound and the power is a nice perk too. I remember there being a GP on them here a while back but I'll be damned if I can find anything using "search"

So far I see there are long tubes and shorties. Is one better than the other? I'm assuming the long tubes are. What sort of power increase would I see from them (I'll may also eliminate the cat) ? Finally, what sort of price are we talking?

TIA

There were a couple of GPs a while back. Stainless Works and I think the other was Exotic Muscle, both very nice headers. Oh, shorties are for looks and long tubes are for performance. Good headers for the Vettes will not be cheap. It's not hard to get a grand or so in them depending on what related exhaust work is done.

I have hedman full length. Not terrible but just hard to install.
well any full length header install will take a full weekend!
unless you have $400-500 to pay another person to install.
If i did it agian id get hookers. i knoe i know people complain bout them being hard to install well either way its hard!
Dont go with shorties waste of time and $!

heres a link on how to install.
note: this is the basics not all exhausts are the same. mine is a 96 and is almost more pain than its worth. but these directions are the basis. i'd say the hardest thing is moving the a/c/alternator, spark plugs, and egr system . I had to cut my exhaust that was a pain!!! well at least i got a sawzall so i can cut my cat out when ever i want with out dad knowing! haha
good luck
Sean

Forget about shorties (unless you're in Calif.) I have Exotic Muscle long tubes. Very good quality and paid $350 to have them installed. As far as HP gain, I'm guessing 10-15.
