My God why is that friggin' radio system so damn complicated???
Here is my story:
I had some water get in my vert thru a bad passenger side weather strip...so the floor was wet- I pull the seat to vac it out and I start to look around for other wet spots which lead me to the rear compartment (behind the seat) so much to my surprise...ther is a good INCH of water stored in there! WOW!!!! WTF!!! my leak was worse then first thought...so I vac that out and see the mis-wire job the previous owner did on the BLOSE system back there...it looked like some electrical idiot went to town splicing and cutting...bare wires everywhere!!!! add this to water....and you can see where I am going- I add a few new fuses and tape up the loose ends to get the radio working again...But why did they have to have 8000 different wires for that stereo?
I have half a mind to put in something more straight forward in the near future...when it craps out again that is....
anyone put in a nice double DIN head unit with 4 quality speakers and like the sound? 94LT1 Vert
Bose is an interesting company. Since manufacturing high quality speaker drivers is expensive, they have figured out that they can make low quality drivers and use fancy electronics (which is much cheaper) to try to compensate for it. The result is a sound that has both bass and treble and appears to sound decent on the surface. However, in reality it is not a very accurate reproduction of the music. If you look at their adds, Bose never claims to be accurate.
