Unless you have a lot of corrosion in the system (coolant a nasty brown color) you should not really need flushing chemicals. Once you drain all of the old coolant, refill with plain water and let it drain about 2 or 3 times. You will need to remove the knock sensors at each side of the block to get the old coolant out.

Refill the system with a 50-50 mix of a good ethleyne glycol (green) coolant and distilled water. This would be a good time to change the upper and lower radiator hoses too!!

Some folks use Watter Wetter as a way to help keep coolant temps down, but if you normally see temps between 195 and 205 or so, you should be fine. Check the front of the radiator and A/C condensor to make sure it's free from dirt and debris. You can use a stream of water from a garden hose pointed from the back side of the radiator to clean any junk out.

Also, do a good water flush. If the system is drained, flushed and refilled with new coolant every 2 years, a chemical flush should never be needed. The fresh antifreeze will have all the additives you will need.

RACE ON!!!

what if there is a little bit of sludge in the top of the coolant tank (black tank on passenger side) if I run my finger in there on ythe top there is a little sludge. Would a regular flush still clean all that out?
