Default Fuel cell

We installed a sump on the factory tank, but I always smell gas. I cannot find a leak, anywhere in the system.

I'm to the point of considering going with a fuel cell. Has anyone done this on a C4? If so, where did you get it???

Are you sure that thing's not leaking?? Not to be insulting but those aren't the best looking welds I've ever seen... Another place to look might be your charcoal cannister, it may be full and puking (particularly if you've largely removed the emissions stuff). As for a fuel cell, it greatly depends on how much you want to cut up the car and how much you want to spend. I've installed fuel cells in C4's before; a couple of them were standard RCI cells that are located under the rear subfloor on solid axle converted Vettes (which require the floor to be removed rear of the seat bulkhead, and the removal of the factory tank). The other cell I did was an aluminum one I fabricated to go where the stock tank was... Holy **** was that a PITA! And expensive in terms of fabrication time, but it fit like a glove and used the factory fill location.

If you can smell gas, it definately is leaking somewhere, you just have find it.

They had a difficult time welding the sump in the tank. I was with them when they were doing it, it kept blowing through...

All of the immisions are gone, and the return vent tube on the top of the tank has a cap on it with a clamp.

I'm wondering if it is leaking between the plastic liner and the steel of the tank.

We've gone as a far as to talc around the weld to see if there is any moisture (from gas), and everything looks fine. I agree -- if you can smell it, there is a leak. FYI -- I did switch over to a vented cap, but it holds pressure. I don't think that is the problem.

The fuel system as you can see has all been changed over. I'm running a 10 -AN line up to the regulators, then a split 8 -AN to the fuel rails.

If it is the tank, I would like to stuff a fuel cell up underneath the car. But I can tell that is going to take a lot of fab work.

Jesse is still working on my chip -- I just sent it to him again yesterday for more tuning. This project is never ending
