Default Moisture inside my car..... :(

Over night, I seem to be getting alot of moisture inside the car. I am used to seeing moisture on the outside of the windows on my truck, but on my car it seems to be the opposite on the vette. I have to wipe the windows by hand and the difrost does not really help at all, because there is so much moisture. Also, I seem to be leaking some water from around my targa top. Any ideas? Thanks!

I have an '88 with Targa top and mine leaks to. Right at the front edges by the doors. It looks like someone put glue into the weather striping, between one strip an another. The glue got hard and now there is a gap. I had good luck with Amzoil, I don't remember the name of the product. It was a plastic conditioner. In the past I would spray it on the weather striping and after a bit go through the car wash to wash the excess off. It softens the weather striping. I guess silicone grease works the same way, I plan to try that since it's cheaper. It may make more mess though. I like using the Amzoil product on the interior plastic to. Hard weather striping will not seal that well and can crack. As for the moisture, I had planned to ask on this board about that! I have to run the heater or A/C all the time because with no air blowing the car gets moisture in it. For example if I turn the car off the wind shield fogs up! Dunno why!

My top leaked and I put some dielectric grease (Dow Corning #4) on the weatherstripping and so far, no leaks.

Trust me! I hate to bring this up! But do you have moisture in the passenger side carpet?

If so, it may be the heater core has gone bad

Hope it isn't this

This is just a thought but I have stripped out many corvettes and the thing on the C4s seems to be the drain hoses in the engine compartment. Your front vents in front of your windshield have drain hoses on them. The way they was made is great for water to get out but not debris. It is a black rubber hose that is cupped at the end with a split in it for water to get out. Almost every one I have found is full to the top with dirt, pine needles, bugs ect ect. So water cant get out so it over flows the vents. See if yours are full. If so run a piece of #9 wire down them that you have made a loop on the end so as not to rip thru the boot. Just something to check out.

Never had moisture on the inside of the car until windshield was replaced-then I got it BIG time. After market weather stripping-not OEM, took it back to the glass shop, they pulled the winshield, put in an OEM-end of problem. If you haven't recently had a winshield replacement-maybe the windshield weather stripping is bad.Hopefully not-this was just my experience-but man it was wet.

Get in vette, close windows have someone (not hard) hose down the top, windows, back glass, till you find a leak. PS have a flash light with you.

It's not the heater core guys. Plus I smell no antifreeze whatsoever. I know its not the heater core. Also, it is moisture I see on the windows. It is all of the windows. Most cars I've seen accumulate moisture on the outside of the windows. I have never seen it accumulate on the inside of the windows. I will have to buy a squeegy I guess.

You won't believe this. I had a film building up on the windows. I'd clean it and it would come back. Well, I was cleaning up the car including the stuff that collects in the cubby holes behind the seats. I found an old first aid kit that was all dried out. Everything in it that was liquid was hard or was hardening or was dried out. There were some lotion stuff oozing out of the tubes and bottles. After I cleaned out the car, I don't have this hazing anymore. Weird!!
