Bad MAF?

Since you have an 85, you wont replace the 2 relays on the firewall, they arent there, despite what people here will try to tell you.
You have either a bad Burnoff Module or MAF sensor, assuming that there are no wiring shorts. Neither is cheap.

I found easiest maf test "assuming the burn off relay isgood"...
Unplug the maf and see if the engine runs smooth both my 87 and 89 had a MAF problem...
If it runs smooth ( it will set a code being unplugged) chances are good it is the MAF....
AS mentioned above the Helms has a heck list... also they run about 250 bucks as i recall...

Thanks for the info. Its definately a bad MAF. I've found prices from $165 [rebuilt] to $450. I think I'm goning to try one of the Granatelli adjustable Maf sensors from Summit.
