New guy needs advice on a cam swap
Hi all I'm new to posting but have checked in for info. for quite some time. I have had my 95 C4 since 97 she has just hit the 50K mark and needs some TLC, or mods that the TLC provides. Anyway, the front crank seal has just started to seep so swaping the cam seems only fair for the fix. Im also thinking new Opti, new water pump, plugs and wires. Am I missing anything? As for the cam, I looked at the Hotcam but was advised by TPIS that it was too much cam for the unmodded heads? and that the ZZ9 cam would work better. I'm also planning new springs, RR, PR, and guide plates. Anybody using the ZZ9 with stock LT1 heads? Thoughts ona different cam that might be better? Thanks for the advice.

This has been a rather hot topic in the recent past. You can find tons of info in the search for other threads. I myself will be using the LT4 Hotcam, but the TPIS grinds are very good cam shafts. The ZZ9 provides a good idle with all kinds of mid range power. It's a good cam. My friend had one in his LT1 Camaro and I was impressed with it.
