Default I smell fuel.......

Okay here's the deal. When cold she will take a few seconds of cranking to start.Like 4 seconds.Runs fine.Doesn't fell like she pulls up top loike she should.I have had her pull hard once.Revs out fine but occasional stumble.Very occasional.
Now after I get home form a drive she goes in the garage and and you can smell gas.Not like liquid form but like vapor.Kinda like a hot gas station pump smell.
If I shut the garage door it will obviuosly get worse.Next morning no smell whatsoever?Doesn't seem to last long but definitely a wiff of it.
I would think or I fell led to believe she is bleeding off pressure. When it drops enough then no more smell.Kinda like a air leak.
Any pointers on spots to look.???????

If it runs fine except the gas smell, try hooking-up a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail and run it for a few minutes then shut it down and observe the fuel pressure. It is probably dropping from a leaky injector. This test will confirm that. Good luck

Would it be a external leak from the injector?
Are there any purge valves?..or fuel rail bleed shraeder valves?
Maybe one is getting weak and not letting the fuel pressure hang on.Within say 1 hour os so it will be hard to start again. If you restart within say several minutes then the first bump of the key does it.Typical Vette crank.

Yeah, thats the symptoms. It is most likely an injector. The schraeder valve is where you want to hook up the gauge and observe the pressure. Basically, the leak will flood the engine over time. You definately need to fix it soon. It could wash your cylinder walls clean of oil and do some wear.

Hmm....so in theory the oil should smell of fuel also?

I'm gonna go check that real quick.

I think you're right...here's couple pics of the right and left bank. The front two on each side were dry.I turned the key on and let them prime. They are both wet now....lol.

Tell me how to pull these things out....any pointers to makin it easier?
Where can i grab some new ones...and should I just get all eight?

Have you checked the leakdown pressure yet? Looks like you have a couple of bad o-rings. I don't think they are causing your start problems although, they will need to be addressed. Once you identified the exact problem and IF it turns out to be the injectors. I would replace the whole set with the Ford 24# SVO's.

I don't have a FPG.....lol.
What can I expect to give for a set of 24lber's...I take it the SVO Furds are cheaper..
How do these guys come out...I see rails and c-clips.Any tricks?Looks simple.
