Hello, I have just purchased a new manual shift **** for my '89 Vette. The seller refer to the car documentation to install it properly, but I don not have it!
Know somebody where to find the original car documentation for a C4 '89 Vette? Or can someone explain me how to replace this part?
i'm pretty sure that it'd be the same as mine. pry the top plastic shift pattern cover off. then you'll see a small silver metal tab. it needs to come straight up. put a screwdriver under the edge of it and place a putty knife between it and your leather ****. simply pry up. it might be tough but thats how mine came out. good luck oh, dont booger up that tab. or it'll be a pita to get out.
LOL......I just took mine outta my 92 like 10 minutes ago...whatta bisch. Finally got an edge under the side.I tried the Vise-grips.Nope.The thin screwdriver worked great.......
I need a new ****......what are our options?????????
I just ordered the Hurst (Classic) **** - I really liked the looks of it. I searched, for the better part of a month for an aftermarket ****. I found a couple of Momo's that I liked, but couldn't pull the trigger on one, till I saw the Hurst.

It's probably obvious, but just so it's out there:
after you pull the "T", **** can be unscrewed counter-clockwise.
Welcome to the forum! Let's see some pics of your 89!
