Default 406 block?

I plan on building a 406 and have located blocks one has been hot tanked,magnafluxed, pressure tested the has been hot tanked, magnafluxed, shot blasted and sprayed with rust protectant they both cots $300-$500. are these priced right?

Seems about right to me, the 400 blocks are getting harder to find.
I built a 406 for my IROC about 10 years ago and payed $350 for a good block bare.

i waas thinking of doing a 406 also, so i called a friend who does performance engine building and he has a few 400 blocks and he said i could have one for $100.00..

i just talked to the motor guy and he said he would build me a 420 or a 434 short block with eagle forged components and j/e nos pistons all balanced and assembled for $2500.00. and thats including 2 bolt billet caps...$400 more for 4bolt splayed caps,
