Default What exhaust

I was wondering since I have a true duell exhaust that is 21/4" I think it is very restrictive since my engine has about 430hp or so. I have hooker long tube headers. Would the front y-pipe for the hooker headers with a duell 21/2" to 3"singale then back to duell 2.5's rear y-pipe be good or bad. That seems about what everyone else has, but for a high hose power motor would this type of system hert also? What other alternatives do I have? I would like to do it myself. Or is a duell 3" what I need.

...anyway...
long tubes hooked up to an LT1/4 exhaust would probably... it would take a little massaging to fit, but that would give you a true dual 2 3/4" exhaust...

Never thought of the lt-1 exhaust. I'll have too look into that. Is the flowmaster exhaust from the pe-cats back. Because all the pic's I see of that system it sais it is cat back and the pic's show like a whole duell exhaust system that looks from the pre-cats back. I've called around and all i get is its "cat back".

Building your own, if your good with a welder would be cheaper, and you can buy 4 foot sections of 3" pipe from summit. The LT1/4 exhausts from the precats back should fit, but you'll need to come up with something to go from the end of the Headers to the beginning of the pipes. http://www.madvet.com/shop?frame=3.36.962

Anyway- what mods are you running that you claim that HP?

I don't realy know how mutch hp i have. I just through a # out there. The motor before had a supper ram-lpe219 cam and now its even faster. So people with that combo claim upper 380hp my cars alot faster than before I thought that was a reasonable # to say. The car ran high 12s, low 13s before I just got done with the new engine. Because i blew the old origanal bottom end up and alog the way took everything else with it.I now have a lightwight forged crank,pistons,h-beam rods, tpis ground zz9x cam for my set up, trickflow cnc'ed ported heads, mini-ram that is portmatched to the heads, longtube headers, 58mm t/b, free-mods, custom burned chip, 1.6rr, blueprinted svo injectors, afpr, and the mid-america 21/4 duell exhaust.
I think its restrictive but I dont like the sound anyway's. It has magna-flow mufflers on it but the car now sounds like crap, before with the other set up it didn't sound that bad. I like a loud exhaust but this just isnt goin to do.
