oil pressure

i have a 86 vette and i was wondering where should my oil pressure be at when i'm cruising at 65mph. also where should it be when the car is warm and ideling?

Anytime your foot is on the gas, it needs to be over 50psi. At full throttle it should top 60psi.

At warm idle it should be about half of that.

sounds excatly the way my 85 reads.

most of the time i'm running somewhere between 65 and 80 psi. is this to much or is it acceptable?

80psi indicates a problem with the oil pressure sender or one of the wires leading to it, because thats the max it can read and its not supposed to be that high.
